In a show of solidarity and optimism for the future, the Ijaw Nation Development Group (INDG) extends warm congratulations to the recently inaugurated Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director signifies a renewed commitment to the region’s development.
The President of INDG, Prof Prosper Ayawei, conveyed the group’s enthusiasm in a statement issued on Saturday. Prof Ayawei expressed confidence that the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda championed by President Tinubu would permeate the entire Niger Delta region under the leadership of the newly constituted NDDC Board.
“INDG heartily congratulates Chief. Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Hon. Boma Iyaye, Mr. Victor Antai, and other members of the newly constituted board of the NDDC on their well-deserving appointment by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Armed Tinubu (GCFR). We equally wish to thank Mr. President for listening to the yearnings of the Niger Delta People on the reappointment of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku while assuring the newly constituted board of the unflinching support of the group.”
The group, in addition to extending congratulations and pledging support, presented an agenda for the new NDDC Board. INDG called on the Board to swiftly embark on initiatives that would bring relief to all corners of the oil-rich Niger Delta region.
Prof Ayawei urged the newly inaugurated Board to hit the ground running, emphasizing the importance of extending development efforts to the deep recesses, including the labyrinth of creeks and remote villages. These areas, he noted, have long awaited the tangible impact of governance and deserve to reap the benefits of the resources derived from their lands.
As INDG celebrates the new era ushered in by the NDDC Board, the group expresses its commitment to collaborative efforts and anticipates positive strides in the development and well-being of the Niger Delta region under Dr. Samuel Ogbuku’s leadership.
